key ingredients
Spirulina is a blue-green algae; a superfood renowned for its intense flavour and multiple health benefits. Amongst many other things, spirulina is known to help lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, boost your energy and lower your chances of having a stroke. Turmeric has been used for centuries by cultures around the world to make herbal medicine. In ancient Indian holistic medicine (known as “Ayurveda”) turmeric is thought to have many benefits due its natural anti inflammatory properties. Curcumin is a pigment found in turmeric offering antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. Because of these wide-ranging functions, turmeric has been studied in relation to arthritis, eye conditions, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and more. Ginger belongs to the same family as turmeric and cardamom. Native to South-east Asia, India and China, ginger has been an integral part of the region’s diet for over 5000 years and is valued for its aromatic, culinary and medicinal properties. It is also a staple of Ayurvedic cooking.
