Ayurvedic Rasam

Ayurvedic | Digestion | Immune System | Soup

Pour this gorgeous soup over rice or enjoy it all on its own - the choice is yours. We've used asafoetida for those delicious onion and garlic flavours. Curry leaves and fenugreek leaves add their savoury taste to the soup, and tamarind adds a flavoursome tang. Although we've used toor dal, black pepper, coriander, cumin and red chillies for extra flavour, the soup isn't spicy

Starting from £6.25 / per serving

Red Lentils:

Being rich in fibre, magnesium and folate; red lentils help to support a healthy heart. They are also superior in providing B-vitamins. They are high in vitamin B6, pantothenic acid and thiamine.

Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has potent biological properties. Research suggests that turmeric can reduce the risk of cancer, and improve the liver. Turmeric is antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant.

While it's native to Afghanistan and Iran, Asafoetida is commonly used in Indian cuisine, where it's referred to as ‘hing’. It works wonderfully in aiding digestion and might help in treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
