Red Lentils: Being rich in fibre, magnesium and folate; red lentils help to support a healthy heart. They are also superior in providing B-vitamins. They are high in vitamin B6, pantothenic acid and thiamine. Turmeric: Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has potent biological properties. Research suggests that turmeric can reduce the risk of cancer, and improve the liver. Turmeric is antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. Asafoetida: While it's native to Afghanistan and Iran, Asafoetida is commonly used in Indian cuisine, where it's referred to as ‘hing’.
